Ghana Joins Arusha Protocol for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants
Ghana deposited on November 24, 2023, its instrument of ratification to the Arusha Protocol for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, with Bemanya Twebaze (first from right), Director General of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO).
The instrument of ratification was deposited by Godfred Yeboah Dame (second from right), Attorney-General, and Grace Issahaque (first from right), Registrar-General, both from the Ministry of Justice of Ghana.

The Arusha Protocol of the Protection of New Varieties of Plants promotes having a dynamic, diverse and thriving community of plant breeders and empowers farmers with climate-smart varieties, to increase productivity and access markets worldwide, according to their needs and aspirations.
