Like Sumichrast's Wren, Nava's Wren is restricted to humid forest with limestone outcrops. The two species are clearly closely related (and were once considered conspecific), but they differ in both voice and plumage. Nava's Wren was named after Juan Nava Solario, a Mexican biologist who collected the holotype specimen (<a href="https://sora.unm.edu/sites/default/files/journals/condor/v075n02/p0137-p0139.pdf" rel="noreferrer nofollow">source</a>).
