Wadi Sahb el Adma is a dry riverbed located in the region of El Bayadh, Algeria. The wadi is approximately 20 kilometers long and runs from the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert. The name "Sahb el Adma" translates to "the bed of the white camel" in Arabic.
The wadi is characterized by its steep-sided banks and sandy bottom. The surrounding terrain is mostly barren, with occasional patches of vegetation. The wadi is dry for most of the year, only filling up during the rainy season, which lasts from November to February.
Despite its arid nature, the wadi is an important source of water for the local population. Several wells have been dug along the banks of the wadi, providing water for irrigation and domestic use. The wadi is also used for grazing livestock, particularly goats and sheep.
The wadi is home to a variety of wildlife, including desert foxes, sand rats, and various species of birds. The wadi is also an important site for paleontological research, with several fossils of prehistoric animals having been found in the area.
In recent years, the wadi has become a popular destination for tourists, particularly during the rainy season when the wadi fills up with water, creating a stunning natural spectacle.
