Adrar is a region located in the Marrakesh-Safi administrative region of Morocco. It covers an area of approximately 9,580 square kilometers and is situated in the southwestern part of the country. Adrar is known for its arid and desert landscape, characterized by vast stretches of golden sand dunes, rocky plateaus, and rugged mountains.

The region is sparsely populated, with a population of around 115,000 people, consisting mainly of Berber communities. The traditional way of life in Adrar revolves around nomadic herding and agriculture, with communities relying on camel and goat herding, as well as cultivating crops such as wheat and barley.

Adrar's climate is extremely dry and hot, with temperatures often exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in the summer months. Rainfall is scarce and irregular, making water scarcity a major challenge for the region. Despite these harsh conditions, Adrar is home to several oases and palm groves, where date palms and other crops can be grown.

The region also boasts some remarkable natural attractions, such as the stunning Erg Chegaga sand dunes, which attract tourists and adventurers seeking to experience the beauty of the desert. Adrar is also home to the Draa Valley, a picturesque oasis valley with lush vegetation and ancient kasbahs, providing a stark contrast to the surrounding arid landscape.

Overall, Adrar is a remote and captivating region that showcases the natural beauty of the Moroccan desert, offering a unique cultural and adventurous experience for visitors.
